money, money, everywhere and not a buck to spend

I started my new career/job/adventure today.  I am now an official Realtor.  That is a trademarked name, but I don’t want to take the time to find the little “r” with a circle around it thingy.  I managed to spend a lot of money today.  I think the only people who make money selling Real Estate are the accountants.  We have to pay them cash money while all we get are deductions.  I never thought I’d be a Real Estate seller.  I always thought of myself as more of the “sit on the sidelines” kind of human.  I am still not sure how well I’ll do with real people instead of machines, but time will tell.

I’m the only person in the office with a Mac.  Our printer doesn’t have a Mac printer driver in it.  I’m not sure what to say about that, but I will come up with a witty remark in a couple of days.  I am going to have to learn to be bi-lingual again (MacOS and Windows) until I can resolve the printing issue.  I’ll probably do something simple like ask the main admin super-woman to call up the zoo and request a rhino to come by and sit on the printer so our vendor will have to provide a new printer, and oh-by-the-way can it have Mac drivers this time?

We had a great weekend.  It was in the 80’s here and we went out on the boat and the Boss fished and I sat on some cushions in the bow and read and just was for a while.  It is really hard to center oneself when all of Nature is out.  The wind was just enough to keep it from being hot and the clouds were covering enough that I did’t need my lost sunglasses.  The Boss found them today after I had looked in the same place 3 times.  Must be gremlins or something.

The hardest part of being sick is the not rushing out and doing too much stuff when you are almost well.  Friday I was starting to feel sub-human (that is a step up from how I was feeling) but even the slightest exertion just tired me out.  I was still so “mostly” weak on Sunday that I even let She Who Must be Obeyed drive the boat most of the time.  All that she caught was a small channel cat that she let go (the fish, not a feline cat).  Each of us has at one time or another been stabbed really badly by the spines on a catfish, so we are equally leery of just grabbing one and holding it while we remove the hook.

I’m kinda tired and fighting the nods, so I’m gonna publish this and go get some dessert.  Thursday is just around the corner.
